Facing Family Engagement Challenges & Useful Ways to Solve the Challenges

The Alliance extends an invitation to all Family Resource Developers (FRD’s) to attend a 2-Day
Parent Professional Workforce Development Training on effective family engagement strategies.
This training will be held at Eastland Suites in Urbana, IL October 17th-18th. Federal funding from
SAMHSA – Statewide Family Network Grant allows us to provide comprehensive trainings for
parent professionals with CEU’s that can be applied to the Certified Family Peer Partner (CFPP)
certification.

The main role of the training is to equip Parent Professionals who have the responsibility of
providing peer support to parents navigating child-serving systems (mental health, juvenile justice,
education etc.).

The trainings are designed to educate, empower and build transferable parent leadership skills to
parents throughout the state of Illinois. We understand the importance of FRD’s having access to
relevant training opportunities specific to their field of work. Each FRD will be afforded the
opportunity to participate in additional trainings which will focus on applying practice evidence-based
practices and community-defined evidence that can be practically applied to their day-to-day
inter actions with their peers.
